BSOD while playing games - GTA4 EFLC.exe crashes during gameplay

    Hi all

Am currently loving playing GTA4: Episodes from Liberty City. The game runs and loads well (offline/single player), but crashes frequently during gameplay at seemingly random times. Included with my siryandi.zip system information file is a report of one of the crashes.

I've had no luck on steam forums or elsewhere, and just can't seem to fix it myself.

Got the legit copy of GTAIV + EFLC from steam. All game files integrity verified to be correct.

Not an overheating issue, case is cool. I prefer to opt for FPS over maxxing out

    Gigabyte Technology: GA-MA790X-UD4
    AMD Phenom(tm) II X3 720 Processor, 3206 Mhz, 3 Core(s) (Oc'd from 2.8Ghz with custom cooling)
    ATI Radeon HD5870 1GB
    4GB DDR2

Computer build is around 4 years old now (except graphics card - bought 2 years ago)

All drivers updated to most recent versions manually checked using "Driver Reviewer"

I've had issues in the past with other games (around 50% of the games I've played over the past year crash DURING game-play or cause a BSOD), plus occasionally my display driver stops, glitches and sometimes recovers. Something that I can't seem to localize has been wrong with this PC for over a year, and so here I am.. please help!

Thank you in advance to all I've stressed for so long over this dang PC and it just never seems to have run smoothly... If anyone has any knowledge that could help me localize the problem to a particular component/software issue I'd greatly appreciate it + won't have to start saving for a whole new build :)

    Siryandi.
