BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f) / DRIVER_VERIFIER_IO_VIOLATION_TY

Hello!
Yesterday I bought a new notebook. There wasn't Windows 7 pre-installed, so I did clean installation and installed drivers. Today I watched some movie and in the middle of it the sound suddenly freeze and I saw the first BSOD: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f). When I looked at the .dmp file I saw something related to Nvidia drivers, so I thought I should reinstal them. Oh, and after that I ran Verifier.
I played the movie again and nothing bad happened. Then I tried to install Deamon Tools Lite - in the middle of it the second BSOD ocurred: DRIVER_VERIFIER_IOMANAGER_VIOLATION (c9). When I googled the "GEARAspiWDM.sys" it turned out to be something that iTunes needs...

That's all I know for the time being. My notebook:
Acer V3-571G
Intel Core i5-3210
NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M
8 GB DDR3 1600 Mhz
Windows 7 Professional x64 En

Please help, because I'm a bit confused. New hardware and problems like this >.< Generally I don't see any particular speed up comparing to my previous Acer notebook (system boot time is almost the same) and the web camera is worse too o.O Once again - please help me! :)

Uninstalled Deamon. But I'm not sure what to do with Gear Software, because I can't find it. I only found GEARAspiWDM.sys in C:\Windows\System32\drivers - should I simply delete it?

I am pretty sure that your DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE was caused by nvlddmkm.sys. I also have an Acer V3-571G with Intel Core i7 3610QM, Nvidia GT 640M and 8 GB RAM, and since I bought it (3 weeks ago) I keep getting that BSOD. I tried all the drivers I could find, but nothing worked (Acer driver for V3-571G, Acer driver for V3-771G, the 3 beta ones from nvidia.com and even the stable one which appeared 2 days ago). The BSOD appears only when the notebook is idle or a short time after the notebook stopped being idle, that being the reason you got it while you were watching movies (that time, the notebook thought it is idle-it happened me, too).
If what I wrote above is true, you are the sixth person (excluding me) I found who has an Acer V3-571G and get DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE BSOD caused by nvlddmkm.sys. I can guarantee you that if you let the notebook untouched for a while (although it can be boring cause sometimes happens after 10-30 minutes, sometimes after a couple of hours) you will get that BSOD again.
If you manage to resolve this problem, please tell me how.

Here I go again....
I thought everything was fine after uninstalling Deamon Tools, but just a couple of minutes ago, BSOD appeared again. This is what I was doing: I installed the newest Foobar2000, then I wanted to install Last.fm scrobbler and in the middle of it, I got BSOD again. At first I thought it was caused by installing iTunes plugin, so I tried one more time without it, and everything was fine. But then I tried one more time with iTunes plugin and it went normaly without BSOD, so probably it's not the cause... I checked at BSOD logs and one more time it pointed at nvlddmkm.sys, so I'm back to the starting point. I attached new diagnostic files.

It's a bit strange because yesterday I ran 3DMark, then Mass Effect 2, and everything was ok.

It's a bit different for me. BSOD doesnt particularly show up, when notebook is idle, it happens in many different situations, but just as you said - it has probably something to do with Nvidia drivers, but we can't be sure though.

As I said, DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE appears when the notebook is idle or a short time after it stopped being idle. The Windows thinks it's idle after 10 minutes without moving the mouse pointer or touching any key. Probably before getting the error, you left the notebook untouched for 10 minutes, that leading to a BSOD (even if by that time you were doing something else).

Nah, it always happened when I was using it - installing programs, surfing the web. I left it for a few hours untouched yesterday and bsod didn't show up.

Just a while ago I updated my BIOS to the newest version and I wonder if this is going to help :)

@TheWolfPoP - what version of BIOS do you have?

Motherboard BIOS-1.07.
Video card BIOS-I don't really know right now cause I'm writing this message from another PC. I will tell you later if you really want to know. Anyway, I searched for another video card BIOS version and found nothing, so I think we both have the same one.

If the answer is YES, could you please tell me how you updated it and also to what version? And another question, what BIOS version did you initially have?
