Do you mean the crash is showing up still?
Do you use any external USB hubs? These often can cause trouble.
I personally can't point my finger on it outside of what's already been explained. It's USB, and it's a timeout issue on a particular port when changing the status of that port (to Disable, which is odd). I know an IRP was involved which would explain a lot more on the situation, but we'll need the kernel dump (MEMORY.DMP in Windows directory) to have any chance of reading it.
Otherwise, I'm stonewalled by the lack of information provided by the minidumps. Did you manage to have the system crash any when Driver Verifier was active? Minidumps from those would help.
As for the composite device, I do not doubt that it's related to some internal component in your laptop. A lot of laptop components utilize USB, so that's nothing unusual.
This can be caused by either drivers playing foul, or some USB hub (external or internal) failing, which internal USB hubs are usually one of the first things to go on a bad laptop motherboard.
No crash until now. As I explained on my first or second post I have tried to install external USB hub but it failed so I don't bother to install it again. After 2 days while playing c9 my keyboard and mouse froze then here comes the BSOD.
Its my first BSOD, but until now theres no crash at all.. seem to be fine. I've been playing c9 since that BSOD. I guess its a one time BSOD. :)
Is it safe to remove that composite device? Just to make sure it will never happen again.
I just turn driver verifier off. :) After playing non-stop I havent experience any crash. Seem to be fine.
Thanks for your help guys, my friend Archie
I marked this case solved :)
Yeah, sometimes there just happens to be what we call phantom bugs, which are ones that pop up and then just as quickly disappear, never to be seen again. Maybe it has something to do with the planets aligning.
