Hi again! I wanted to thank you for taking the time to look at my dump files and responding as well as offering a solution. Before I posted this I did a lot of research online and saw people with similar issues although not exact, so I decided to post and see what you guys had to say.
I clicked on the link you provided and downloaded Easy Drive Pro, ran it and it said I needed to update 25
drivers. So, I went into my PC's HP Support and it said I needed to update a bunch of drivers (including the wi-fi adapter but not even close to 25) as well as the BIOS, so I let it do that automatically hoping that would solve the problem-it didn't! I decided to wait until this morning when I was fully awake before messing around with installing and uninstalling more drivers.
Today I thought about all the "resolutions" I saw while doing my research and since many of them were problems with the IPv6 configuration, rather than downloading more drivers I did what someone suggested elsewhere and simply went into my adapter properties, unchecked the IPv6 box and voila!--my computer went to sleep and awoke without any problems. WooHoo!!
I'm not generally one for emoticons but--

!
Thank you to ALL of you for your untiring support. There are many forums out there, but this is the one I come to first.
