    BSOD randomly occuring, no clues as to trigger


    I am receiving BSOD's, 99% of the time it is when I have walked away from the computer but I am noticing some serious issues with the computers performance all of the time. I have not had a BSOD since finding this forum but I have followed all of the instructions and setup a minidump file, I have increased the pagefile size to accomodate the 24GB of RAM in my system and have run the SF tool already. Here is the SF file for what I have so far. I will repeat it as soon as I get my next BSOD surprise.

    The zip you uploaded does not contain a crash dump.


    1. Go to Advance System Setting
    2. Under Performance .. click on setting ...
    3. Go to Advanced Tab and then under virtual memory click change
    4. check "Automatically Manage paging file size for all drives"..... click Ok and ok
    5. and if asked to restart do so....


    Now you should be able to create a minidump     (By Centaur78)

    I stated in my original post that the computer had not crashed yet since I joined the forum, I will leave open some youtube and other video related pages which seem to trigger the crashes faster.

    I just got another clean crash, after following your directions I am still not getting a dump file. I have done a little bit of internet digging and from what I can gather it appears that this is not uncommon for SSD hard disks? I can't imagine what would make them so different from a traditional platter type HD in that regard but I am no expert. Please advise as to where to go next, I am at a loss here.

    Still there is no crash dumps.

    Go to C:\Windows\Minidump, collect those and upload those here.

    Go through the tutorial Dump File - Change Default Location to be confirm on the dump files location. I may be wrong here.

    I went through the tutorial and used the registry to change the default location to another internal HD as the location for dump files. It still is not creating a dump nor a minidump file upon crashing. Where do I go from here? Is there anything that can be accomplished through the eventlogs etc?

    I noticed you have Enterprise 64 operating system. Have you contacted your IT department and asked for help. Where/wheir did you get you copy of Enterprise?
