Black screen and shutdown on Dragon Nest

    Good day!

First and foremost let me point out that I'm using a laptop for my gaming and school needs.

This problem have started occurring about a month ago. All my other games run fine without any black screen and shutdown (L4D2, Borderlands, Ghost Sniper Warrior, MW3, Prototype, etc...).

    System specs are:
    i7-740QM
    GT425m - Driver 306.23
    4gb RAM
    500gb Toshiba @ 5400 RPM

My temps are running at a fair 70-75 deg. C when playing Dragon Nest. I just added a fresh batch of thermal paste (CoolerMaster HTK-002-U1) 2 weeks ago. It's not the best TIM in the market, but it lowered my temps. I'm still going to change my TIM to either an Arctic Silver 5 or a Tuniq TX-4 since availability of those pastes is scarce in my area.

I apologize for not being able to post a ZIP file using SF Diagnostic Tool, but whenever I click "Grab All" it says
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Could not complete operation on some files and directories. See the Data property of the exception for more details."

Instead, I copied my "Report Queue" folder from Windows Error Reporting. There are a lot of folders (in just one day) and I thought it would be best to just include them all in one ZIP file.

Please do tell me if you need any additional information.

Thank you for your time :)

Edit: I think I should add this little info: I have tried uninstalling and installing the game countless times and the problem does not seem to be resolved. Is this probably a hardware issue? Please God no >.<

    Thanks for the fast reply.

Sorry for not being able to post in the proper format. SF Diagnostic Tool wasn't able to get my minidump file so I just did it manually (but it was able to get all the other files though). When I went to the minidump folder and tried copying, it said "You need administrator rights" or something so I went ahead and google'd for a bit and got my file. When I ran the diagnostic tool again, it was able to get the dump file.

    Follow the steps thoroughly ....

    STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting

You got a stop 117, that is also included in the scope of those steps.

I followed the steps, and it got worse. Right after logging-in the game, I got the black screen. I don't understand why this happens only on this game. My other games run perfectly smooth even if I play for a whole day.

How old the graphics card is?

You may enter into the settings of the game and change priorities to minimum. It may work there.

I bought this laptop 2 years ago. I think it's already "a bit" old. I'll give playing at low settings a shot. Will post a report as soon as I get a black screen

So far, no crashes. Was able to do a single nest run. I'll try opening some applications while playing to truly test the stability.
