BSoD While playing World of Warcraft, and while Idle

    Hi all!

Glad to have found this site, it seems far superior to any other tech site I have seen yet!

I just upgraded my PSU and GPU and am now recieving BSOD screens.

Im rather certain, since I have never seen a BSOD yet, it has to do with something with the ATI drivers but since im only moderately computer savvy, I'll see if I can get better help here.

I noticed shortly after installing the card WoW would freeze and lock up the entire PC. They did say they had issues with Dx11 and newer cards so I figured playing on dx9 option would fix it. Seems to have done the trick so far.

Then last night my PC, when I wasn't around it, had crashed. Again, today, while playing it crashed again.

Im sorry I forgot to copy the exact details it gave but it was c2 and something along the lines of 000000007 and 000000109B

Anyway, here are my zipped files and I look forward to your help!

    -Jim

    Welcome aboard.

    Uninstall the following programs:

    Free up the startup.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept the restart.

Update your Audio, Display and Network drivers. All are old.

► Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

just a quick note before I uninstall the catalyst control center, doIreally want to get rid of it? It controls all things with my vid card and my displays, my overclocking, and more. The rest im not so worried about gettin rid of.

Also, you say to update my display driver, its from the 26th of sept, along with the CCC. It was the newest one, beta 12.9.

    Again, tyvm!

CCC is a known problem causer, and as you are getting crashes, what is the first thing you need to do is get to stop overclocking.

The display driver is causing some issues there, as well. If it is the latest one, you first uninstal it using driver fusion, and reinstall it again.

    Let us know the results.

Well, so far so good with the BSOD. I only got to play World of Warcraft for an hour or so but didn't see any blue screen errors.

I deleted all what you said to delete, even CCC BTW I used it to underclock (its factory ultra-overclocked). I sweeped the driver installation of it. That right there seemed to do a lot. BUT I did freeze up in another game, think its due to heat though. I ordered a PCI slot exhaust cooler to help.

2 issues remain. One is I think heat. All though the CPU was max at 73 degrees C and the vid card hit 70 at max. If its not heat I don't know what it would freeze.

second issue is videos sometimes make my screen all distorted and wavy, before going all black. It happens at random.

For the heat issue, you may arrange extra coolers. An overclocked system will produce extra heat that is expected.

And, if the heat problem is solved, the videos will also run smoothly, hopefully.

Would videos cause heat though? I have a temp monitor on at all times and when not playing games my GPU is at 47 and the CPU cores are no more than 45. Its a new card, wonder if its a driver issue or a faulty card issue?

As a try, you may uninstall your codecs and install the latest version of Shark 007's codec pack, if it changes the situation.

moreover, you may try a stress test of the video card using furmark.

I did use future mark for testing, not a load test but a score test.

I think everything is in pretty decent order right now, at least no BSoD anymore, so I will consider this issue in this thread solved. I thank you very much for your assistance!
