BSOD at Login Screen - ThinkPad T60p

I've been having random BSODs at boot right as or just after the login screen appears with my ThinkPad T60p (type 2623-8YU if that helps anyone.)

    Specs: Windows 7 Professional x32
    Core Duo T2500 2GHz
2GB PC2-5300 RAM, tested with Memtest86+ to be free from errors
120GB WD WD1200BEVS-08UST0 hard drive, SMART status okay, chkdsk /f performed
ATI Mobility FireGL V5200, Catalyst version 10.2 installed using MobilityModder

    Hello Kasm279.

► Free up the startup. You hove 30 programs in startup.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept the restart.

    Overclocking failure.

    80786944 8ecbc000 <Unloaded_ATITool.sys>
Run ATITool. Set everything to default, and then uninstall it.

    Uninstall it.

Uninstall the following programs , too.

    • Catalyst Control Center
    • HD Tune
    • Lenovo ThinkVantage
    • Lenovo ThinkVantage Tools
    • LogMeIn Hamachi

Uninstall those using Revo uninstaller, which you already have.

One thing made me astonished here ....
As per the MSINFO file, you have a very old ATI driver
    Code:
    Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\atikmdag.sys (8.1.1.882, 4.24 MB (4,450,816 bytes), 2/11/2010 0:42)
But no display drive I found in bugchecking. If you Use ATI, update the drivers.

Your network driver is also very old.
    Code:
    Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\netw5v32.sys (12.4.1.4, 4.04 MB (4,231,168 bytes), 6/10/2009 15:18)
    update the network driver.
First, download the network card driver from manufactuer's website, Download Cente
    Then reinstall the driver:

    1. Click the Start Button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Start Menu Search box and press Enter.
    2. Double click to expand "Network adaptors".
    3. Right click your network card and click Uninstall.
    4. Check "Delete driver software for this device" check box, click OK.
    5. Restart the computer
    6. If windows does not auto configure the appropriate drivers at startup, install the downloaded one manually.

    Let us know the results.

Augh, I hate it when programs leave things behind. ATItool was uninstalled months ago. The Catalyst drivers are old because they are the last ones that support the older DX9 graphics chipsets, which the FireGL V5200 and Radeon X1600 are. Also, the BSODs were happening before I installed Hamachi, so I'll leave that for now, as well as ThinkVantage, which I can't really uninstall anyway, being a laptop. I did uninstall HDTune, but ATITool isn't in the list in Revo, nor can I find it anywhere else. I remember uninstalling it with Revo after trying to use it to read temps from the graphics chip...

Err, sorry. I didn't mean to come across that way. Anyway, I removed ATItool before but apparently it left stuff behind, HDTune has now been removed. I'm not sure what Intel Rapid Storage Technology is, but I don't have anything installed by that name...

Anyway, at the moment I can't uninstall Catalyst or any of the ThinkVantage tools, but I can try this weekend. I will try uninstalling Hamachi, but crashes were hapening before both Hamachi and Catalyst were installed. (I was using the drivers from Windows Update before.) I'm currently updating the network driver. So far I haven't had a crash, but that doesn't mean anything.

Well, a gentleman can help another one.

Download and install Driver Fusion, delete ATITOOL.sys using it.

Then, download and install CCleaner. Run it, and click on the "Tools" tab.
    Attachment 234854

By Default, it will open the "uninstall" window. Click on the "save text file" button.
    Attachment 234855

Save an "Install.txt" file on the Desktop.
    Attachment 234856

    Zip it and upload it.

We need it, coz the Intel Rapid Storage Technology is the direct cause of your crashes. To uninstall it, it is to find out at first.

Before nullifying another person who is helping you on your request only, think about the effort that the person put there for you only. The attitude you showed in your first reply is most unwelcome, and does not reflect something good, too. We all are concerned about our self esteem, isn't it? And it reflects mostly in our attitude, in our behavior.

Again, I didn't mean to offend you, nor did I mean to blow off your advice. Anyway, here's the install.txt. Also, I have no clue how I am supposed to use Driver Fusion. How might I find the ATITOOL.sys in it?

Intel storage is not in installed programs list, unfortunately. Search it in Revo's window, if it is listed.

For ATITool, use Driver fusion this way ...

Whatever, seeing the messy state of your computer, IMO it is better to start fresh.

I tried searching for Intel stuff in Revo couldn't find anything about the storage stuff. I also couldn't find ATITOOL.sys in Driver Fusion. I've been meaning to do a full reinstall, but I've been so busy with school and stuff lately that I haven't been able to.
