I have no clue what BSOD is but my moms laptop crashed! it won't load

Alright so my mom did something stupid on her laptop and it crashed I guess, the screen loads from like the home screen and it gets to the login part but the login doesn't show up it's all black with only the mouse cursor and she says if she doesn't get her laptop fixed shes cutting off the internet :( I CAN'T LIVE WITH OUT MY NET! please help me. I don't know how to fix it and I don't know where to even post this.

If you have the disk the easiest solution would be to run a system restore from the recovery console.

Boot off the disk.
When on the install screen choose repair its on the lower left corner.
This will give you a menu. Choose system restore.
Choose the most currnet restore point.

I don't have a disk and i'm trying to system restore right now and it's been on this screen for the past 30 minutes and i can only do system restore in safe mode that's if and when I can get to safe mode

I followed the instructions ...but i'm like a noob at all of this im just googling solutions i got the screen on the computer loads but now when i try to go on the internet or download mcafee the computer crashes

every time it goes to the blue screen when it crashes i try to read all it says and i finally see that it says something about the "Video Adapter" and then boom it reloads how can i fix this problem??

out of 30 times system restore worked once that's how i was able to actually use the net but then it crashed again and again and again and system restore won't work now. and i even did the "restore to when configures worked" what ever thing and nuthing i scanned it with mcafee that i finally got to install and actually work and nothing i have no clue what she did to screw up her laptop -.-

I did system restore a million times it only worked successfully once other times it just freezes i also did the "change back to when configures worked properly" thing what ever that is. so as of now. it can cut on go on the net and then after like 10 - 15 minutes it crashes. i was finally able to get mcafee installed properly the guy said Internet explorer 9 was messing that up so i did a full scan of the computer and it said no viruses and that took 2 hours it was working just fine then but I left the house and came back it was back to crashing after 10 - 15 minutes of being on. i'm all out of ideas.
