Windows 7: BAD_POOL_CALLER WIN7 Pro 64

BAD_POOL_CALLER WIN7 Pro 64

Hello,

Initially I thought that the trouble was caused by the Avast Virus Scanner " Auto Sandbox" I disabled it but the BSOD'S continue.

There is no sense adding more software to this system until the problem is sorted out. I have a dual boot system with XP Pro as the other OS. I can easily blow out the partition for 7 and start over. But all I would be doing is repeating the same errors as before.

Very discouraging for a new install but I can do it again if that's what it takes to cure the problem.

Thank you in advance!

Tinsby

Hi,

Your dump does not give a probable cause but seems to hang at avast for some reason

Code:
STOP 0x000000C2: BAD_POOL_CALLER
Usual causes: Device driver, ?Memory
BugCheck C2, {99, fffffa800858ba60, 0, 0}
Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt!CmpCallCallBacks+4f6 )
----------------
fffff880`0aeb0b98 fffff880`02e93125Unable to load image \SystemRoot\System32\Drivers\aswSnx.SYS, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for aswSnx.SYS
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for aswSnx.SYS
 aswSnx+0x59125
Suggest you to uninstall it completely as it does contribute in BSoD problems.
Download and install free MSE, it's light and does not cause problems on the Windows 7 system. Make a full scan also.

Keep us posted of further BSoDs

Hi Kookkat77,

Yes I made the suggested changes and I have NO more BSOD'S! It's a shame because I like Avast and it always worked well on XP.

Currently running AVG with no troubles thank you!
