ntoskrnl.exe BSOD error 0x0000003b when gaming
Hello, I have been having this BSOD for about half a year now and I don't know why it is happening. It always happens when I'm gaming, not any other time, it recently happened during Deus Ex and before that a varied amount of times with games like Jagged Alliance 2 and Dark Messiah.
The good thing is that it doesn't happen often, but it definitely is getting annoying.
The thing that frightens me is that it may be a problem with my hardware, as I had reformatted my hard drive about three months ago and even after the reformat I still get BSODs. Now the truly puzzling thing about this is before the reformat, my BSODs, while still being caused by ntoskrnl.exe, were usually 0x24 NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM errors while now they are all 0x0000003b SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION errors.
My processor is overclocked to 4.0ghz but it's stable and runs cool, and I don't think it would cause that type of error. My RAM is on default everything, stock voltage, 1600mhz, and manufacturer recommended timings. This BSOD has happened to me while and without my video card being overclocked (which is also stable -- to my knowledge) so this further confuses me on why this would happened.
I really don't understand, I don't see how it could be the software since I've been having BSODs before and after a total reformat. And I don't particularly like the idea of RMAing a component and being without a computer for 2-4 weeks.
Any help is appreciated.
