    Uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials completely. Download and reinstall afresh.

    Make a full scan.

    Update all network drivers.

    Post back results.

    Did as you said, except I ran into a problem with the Microsoft Virtual WiFI Miniport Adapter & Adapter #2. Both are not up to date, but when I allow it to search online for updates, I get the "Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software..." message.

    I was unable to find anything online to confirm it's safe. Any suggestions?

    Again, I really appreciate you taking the time to help.

    Run this, check the system for updates:

    *Needs Java*
