    You'll have to boot to your BIOS and change the video settings from there first.

    It would be helpful if you have a friend who can lend you their graphics card for a while to play and see if you're getting BSODs/crashes/hangs/heating problem.

    That's that thing, in the a12 bios settings there is no tab to change the display settings. I tried going in there a number of times

    Normally on most laptops, you cannot change graphic cards, and it's a big ordeal if you can. I don't play skyrim, but from others I understand it is a pretty demanding game. The symptoms you are describing sound like it is overheating. It does it quickly on a demanding game like skyrim. It takes longer on a less demanding game before it crashes, once you start it back up, it hasn't had a chance to completely cool down and crashes sooner.

    I played skyrim for months with no crashes. It just started happening when I started playing guild wars two. I upgraded my before

    *my nvidia card and then it started crashing after a week of playing gw2. Installed old drivers and it still crashed. I then wanted to see if it was only gw2 and put in skyrim. crashed in five minutes

    Get a cooler, do a clean install and see if it crashes.
