BSOD Stop 0x00000124 during games, sometimes randomly

Hello all,
Recently I've been getting a lot of BSODs with the same code, Stop 0x00000124. I've read the thread Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try and no luck with the suggestions. These errors mostly occur during games and every now and then I get no BSOD, but the computer just restarts.

I recently added some new memory and this started about 30-45 days after the installation I would guess. However, I ran memtest for 20 hours with 0 errors yesterday so I'm going to temporarily rule out bad memory.

No overheating on the CPU. ~29-30C no load, ~42C during prime95 torture after about 10 mins. Doesn't ever get much higher.

I've attached today's dump files as well as ones from 10/23from the tool provided in the BSOD thread. I switched from Kernal to Small File dump and wasn't sure if this would cause an issue. Pardon my ignorance on that one. Here's a link to CPU-Z validation for that particular info. CPU-Z ko300zx

Thank you for the reply Arc. I'll give the stress test a try and clean up some of that garbage. I know I can be pretty bad about crapware sometimes. I've been taking a look at these dump files with BlueScreenView this morning and there actually seems to be a mix of errors.

0x116 and 0x124.
Most of the 0x116 errors seem to stem from dxgkrnl.sys while the 0x124 are coming from hal.dll.

I followed the instructions in the link you provided. No artifacts or any errors with default settings. Temp leveled out at 74C @ 75% fan speed after about 5 mins and stayed there for about another 5 so I stopped the test as outlined in the guide.

I did a follow up test with slight overclock settings that I use. Same results except 76C. Same time frames & fan speeds.

Sorry, have been very busy and without internet access at home due to hurricane Sandy.

I of course disabled all overclocks right away. That was the very first thing I did. I however wanted to use the benchmark test to see if the overclocking could have perhaps been a culprit as the tests I was conducting were not re-producing the problems I was having.

I had uninstalled a lot of the crapware on my PC and things had been working fine up until the power went out so haven't been able to do much additional testing to see if it's not fully cured.

I found a new problem yesterday however. I was doing some overclock testing on the CPU out of sheer boredom and when I was finished, I set everything back to AUTO in BIOS. However, when I start the PC now, it is still showing as overclocked. Multiplier 18, Bus Speed ~211. Default 17/200. I went back in and looked around BIOS and couldn't find anything out of place. Everything that could be set to auto was. Same 18/211 showing up. As I have no internet access on that comp I couldn't do a CPUZ to show it.

One more thing to diagnose!
