    Artifacts During Boot Windows Logo.

About 3 weeks ago i installed Guild Wars 2 and was required to update my Video card drivers before i could play 306.23 i believe they were ( i have tried so many other versions and older ones now i forget) since then i have experienced Crashes, Artifacts and lock ups in all games i play including even while browsing the web. Sometimes it recovers from these artifacts/lock ups and says display driver crashed and has recovered but 95% of the time its a hard reboot to try to solve the problem , Now i am getting the artifacts during windows logo if it does this before it gets to password screen the screen turns black and i need to boot again really frustrating any help would be awesome, thanks

I would like to add that If i tab out of game it normally crashes instantly, and the artifact/crashes come in GW2 when i go onto a loading screen I.e changing Zones.

First of all, double check that your video cable is plugged in snugly and doesn't have any damaged pins or contacts.

For the sake of troubleshooting, can you turn your system off for a total of at least fifteen minutes before booting it back up again?
NVIDIA drivers have been known to cause issues in the 4x and 5x series GPUs that may cause permanent damage and overheating.

If after booting your system up after a long rest it doesn't exhibit any artifacting then it may be an overheating issue, in which case I would prompt you to:

    1. Remove your current drivers by using the NVIDIA Driver Removal Tool or Driver Sweeper available freely from Guru3D or upon a Google search.
    2. As per usual you can find the latest NVIDIA drivers to install afterward.

Please monitor the temperature of your GPUs for anything inconsistent or obscure after performing this.

I would suggest checking your GPU on the motherboard — ensuring that it is locked in tight and there is nothing between it and the contacts inside the motherboard.

You should not be experiencing any artifacting during the boot process.

Are you able to cleanly remove and install the latest NVIDIA drivers just to confirm that it isn't a software issue?

Does the artifacting happen in safe mode?

Do you have another Operating System installed on a separate partition to boot in to? Does this occur on that OS too?

Please test the GPU in another machine.
