Many random different BSOD after installing software.mostly 0x...1a/0a

    Hello all,

Saturday 11-11-2012 I was installing a game from steam.
I guess something went completly wrong with the installation.
Because since then I got many bluescreens, even after deinstalling the software.
These BSOD acure at no specific moments.
When I'm not even doing something to using Solidworks and using google chrome. (so they ain't related)
Only way to not having them accure is using safe mode.
I would really appreciate some help.

    Thanks in advance,
    Koen

    Welcome aboard.

Initially you need some maintenance. Do those steps.
    Uninstall those programs:

    • Start Menu\Programs\ASUS Utility
    • Start Menu\Programs\DAEMON Tools Lite

    Use Microsoft Security Essentials.
Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Download and install those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

    ► Free up the startup.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept the restart.

Then as your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Hi Koen .... is it showing this screen even before the computer shows the desktop? If so, power off, boot into safe mode, disable verifier. Then boot normally again, and re-enabe verifier, making it sure that you are following all the steps of Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable , and not selecting any of the microsoft's drivers.

    ---------
Uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials in Control Panel> Add or Remove Programs. If failed, follow the link How to manually uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials 1.0.1963 if you cannot uninstall it by using the Add or Remove Programs item.

Then download install and update it again. Download: Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

    Let us know the results.
