C: defiantly is my windows volume. Not sure why it wasnt working but once i started running it directly of my computer it worked.
while still in c:\windows\system32\drivers do:
Did it move all files starting with avg to new folder avgsave? If so reboot normally and tell me what happens. Ignore avg errors. If boot succesfully uninstall avg. post resultsCode:md avgsave move avg*.* avgsave
After everyting is working fine and AVG uninstallation succeeds succesfully, try to reboot. All still fine? Then delete folder c:\windows\system32\drivers\avgsave
I think the rootkit remover tried to fix avg... but did it wrong
Unfortunately that did not solve the issue. It now blue screens on CLASSPNP.SYS still under system 32 drivers. Damn i thought that would work too!
Im thinking about trying bootrec /fixmbr and bootrec /fixboot because they seemed to work for some one else who was having issues with CLASSPNP.sys. I cant see this making anything worse should i give it a shot?
Which folders are on your system? Again check it on C drive
Which ones do you have?
- C:\Program Files\AVG - This is also named C:\Program files(x86)\AVG when you have a 64bit operating system
- C:\ProgramData\AVG8
- C:\ProgramData\AVG9
- C:\ProgramData\AVG10
OK! In Program files x86 i have AVG and AVG Secure Search. In ProgramData i have AVG2012 and AVG Secure Search. I will now look to see if the bsod has changed
