It was a great card, but the fan on it was starting to get louder, and it was quite old, a lot of times I had to unplug the HDMI cable from it and plug it back it for it to recognize the monitor
Thanks again, I will keep you updated.

*just did virus scans, all came back clean*

I see. Sounds good.

Update the thread when you're done finally. Or after a few hours of observing how the computer performs.

-uninstalled avast
-uninstalled spybot
-updated my bios
-Installed MSE

I have already noticed things loading faster, since I updated my bios, startup-reboots are faster as well.
I will update in a couple days if I am BSOD free.

Thanks for the update.

If you haven't cleaned the inner of computer recently (hardware components), you should do that too. Install speccy or hwinfo from the links I posted earlier for keeping a check on the hardware temperatures occasionally if you like.

Good Luck.

I just thought I would come on here and express my gratitude again.
I was on XP before I upgraded to win 7, and for most that know, XP is very reliable. and I have heard that 7 was too. When I first installed 7, I was like "wow, this is nice, quick, I like it" then the endless BSOD's, that I could not figure out, for the life of me, even with my decent computer knowledge. Then I found this since, Finally after how many months.
Thank you, So much. One of the best forums for OS problems, hands down.

Hi! Exactly same problems here as richphotos has had. Also replaced ATI/AMD Radeon HD 4830 with NVidia GeForce640 and after that random crashes. Sometimes BSOD and sometimes just jamming when browsing Firefox. Tested pretty much that not RAM problem and not heat. Never crashed when playing games though.

I will try now with the steps you have provided and then come back how it turns out. I donīt have Avast! but I have AVG. But lets see in next couple of days if I can solve the problem with these steps.

About a week ago, I downgraded my RAM from 2x2GB and 2x4GB to just the same 2x4GB. The computer had been stable for over a year and that is the only hardware change that has occurred just prior to the start of the BSODs. I have tried memory testing (both the Windows and Memtest) and moving the...
