Hi! Nice to hear that richphotos got rid of the crashing problem. I have had a couple of BSODs last days. Its mainly referring to ntoskrnl.exe in the dump.

However I might have now found the cause:

Solved - BSOD Caused by ntoskrnl.exe (Bad Pool Header) | PC Help Forum

"Nvidias HD audio drivers they are well know to conflict with Realteks audio drivers"

I have these both so I think Im going to have to ged rid of either NVidia HD audio drivers or Realteks drivers. Luckily my primary sound system is neither of these, so Im hoping this finally does the trick. I will post the results.

BugCheck 3B loves your computer

You have 4GB RAM, = 2 sticks?

4- 1gb sticks. I did the mem-test, But it still would not surprise me if the ram was bad, its over 7 years old.

And you are right, bug check 3b has a strange obsession with my computer.

seven years!? And yes sometimes memtest does not show errors. sometimes not even after 8 passes.

Do you have a friend or a neighbor you can borrow RAM stick(s) from? How many RAM slots does your motherboard have?

I unfortunately dont, I found a great deal on some ram at a local computer store, it will give me a reason to get some faster ram, and some new ram.
And my motherboard has 4 slots, Its the Asus m3a78-em.
Well off to work, Then to get some ram if they still have some. As always, I will keep you updated since you have been so kind to help.

Nice. I guess you should get 1 4GB stick first and see how the computer performs.,(For 3 weeks at least) + should of course match your motherboard config.

If the tasks you do on your computer require higher RAM than 4GB you can get more..later.

We'll be here for an update.

See you

About a week ago, I downgraded my RAM from 2x2GB and 2x4GB to just the same 2x4GB. The computer had been stable for over a year and that is the only hardware change that has occurred just prior to the start of the BSODs. I have tried memory testing (both the Windows and Memtest) and moving the...
