Windows 7: BSOD bugcode_usb_driver

BSOD bugcode_usb_driver

This is pretty much starting to drive me nuts. I just upgraded my machine to W8 a few days ago and it seems to be happening more frequently, although it happened pretty often with Windows 7 too, same BSOD message. Most of the time I am just listening to music in iTunes when it happens. When the computer restarts, I ALWAYS have to unplug and plug back in my wireless USB dongle to get my internet back on. I have installed the latest drivers for everything I can think of. I need some help before I throw this thing out of a window.

Thanks,

Welcome aboard.

You need to update TEAC USB HS ASYNC AUDIO DRIVER (WDM).
Code:
lmvm TEACHsAs
start end module name
fffff880`0c457000 fffff880`0c464f80 TEACHsAs T (no symbols)
    Loaded symbol image file: TEACHsAs.sys
    Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\drivers\TEACHsAs.sys
    Image name: TEACHsAs.sys
    Timestamp: Thu Aug 04 08:12:36 2011 (4E3A071C)
    CheckSum: 0001921B

    Translations: 0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
Update it from the manufacturer's website.

Disable USB selective suspense.

Thanks for the reply Arc.

I unplugged the device, removed/uninstalled all of the old drivers. Downloaded and installed the newest driver from the TEAC website (same version as I just deleted). Then connected the device and manually assigned the drivers.

Not confident that this will fix my problem since this is how I installed the driver before, so if I am doing anything wrong in this process please let me know. Otherwise I will just report back with findings either way.

Oh, I also disable USB selective suspense.

Thanks again!

Now wait and see how the system works.

Report the situation back to us, specially if there is any further crashes.

Well, that didn't take long. Listening to iTunes again, same BSOD after about 15 minutes. Actually happened twice in a row, second time I had just logged in and clicked to send the error report to MS. Any other suggestions?

I can't really pinpoint the time when I started to get theses BSODs, I have been living with them for a while. I had probably only made a couple changes to my computer at the time. One was the TEAC and removing my sound card, the other was adding a second graphics card. Although it's hard to say for sure.

camerri, can you upload the newer dumps? I want to verify that driver is properly updated or not.

If it is properly updated and still crashes, we are to search deeper for the causes of the crashes.

Hmm ... it shows the exactly same result as the earlier one, unfortunately

Well, maybe I will uninstall the TEAC and just run off of the MOB sound for a while and see if that solves it. If it does at least I have found the culprit. If not, I am back to square one.

Thanks again.
