I downloaded the file you just posted for v1.04 as well. The v 1.05 is here: Gateway Support - Downloads & Support Documents, then I selected NV53 under Notebooks. Then I went to the Support tab, selected Drivers and Downloads, then selected the BIOS which is down the page a few lines.

I don't need to know how to download the file -- I have both v1.04 and v 1.05 downloaded -- the question is "how" and from where do I execute the BIOS flash? Do I simply double click on the BIOS.bat file right in Windows Safe Mode or reboot and go to the Command prompt in Safe Mode. Thanks.

My apologies, Jim. I must have misunderstood your previous post.

I actually got the following file downloaded. \BIOS_Gateway_1.05_A_A\BIOS_Gateway_1.05_Windows.

What is a bit troubling is that the date of the file is 12/30/2009 and alludes to "Sets the critical low of battery from 3% to 5% and the warning of battery from 5% to 7%." The readme file is dated 07/13/2010 and the text in the readme is simply "Run "BIOS.BAT" in pure DOS or Windows x86/x64 OS environment."
Every BIOS I've updated had a .exe file that I just double-clicked. I have no clue about how to handle a bat file. Again, my sincerest apologies.

Hi. Any feedback or help on my last comment regarding the error code: Driver (WDM) Init fail! (x137)?
