Get it from ATHEROS drivers for Microsoft Windows (Atheros?????)

Free up the startup.
  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept the restart.
Let us know the results.

Where do I find the service pack?

And I've already downloaded the Atheros driver but I don't know how to install int.
when I unzipped the driver, all I got was these files:
  1. l1c62x64.cat
  2. L1C62x64.inf
  3. L1c62x64.sys
Do you happen to know how to intall 'em?

Learn how to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

upgrade the network driver:

Download the network card driver from manufactuer's website.
Then reinstall the driver: L1c62x64.sys
  1. Click the Start Button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Start Menu Search box and press Enter.
  2. Double click to expand "Network adaptors".
  3. Right click your network card and click Uninstall.
  4. Check "Delete driver software for this device" check box, click OK.
  5. Restart the computer
  6. If windows does not auto configure the appropriate drivers at startup, install the downloaded one manually.

I have now installed the service pack and the driver.

Wait and see if there'll still be crashes.

Hi again,

Ever since I installed the service pack, it seems that my laptops runs a bit slower. Does the service pack have any effect on the speed of my laptop or its just me?

It should not run slower.

Free up the startup.
  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept the restart.
Run disc cleanup. Disk Cleanup - Open and Use

BTW, is it crashing anymore?

If you have driver verifier enabled, it will definitely slow the PC down. not only slow, but a bit heavy and laggy.

Ah so that's why. Okay, Thanks for the info. I'm going to have to wait again if it'll still crash.

Thanks.

It crashed again while it was sleeping, and I had to try multiple times before I can turn it on again because it kept crashing on startup. The funny thing was, when I tilted the laptop a bit, it started fine. I don't know if its just a coincidence or something. I don't know what to do now. Here is another crash dump analysis.

Thanks
