random BSOD's and Explorer crashes
Well Thanx for helping.
I was redirected here from another thread I made regarding explorer crashes that occur very often now (several times a day).
Next to that I have a BSOD about once a month. I can't recall exactly when the BSOD's started so I can't link it to an installation or update. And it just don't happen very often.
Now the main problem that's getting very annoying are the explorer.exe crashes.
It started about two/three weeks ago when I wanted to open a folder I just downloaded. I was given the message that Explorer stopped working, looking for a solution ...... And off it went.
Well, no solution given at any time of this occuring.
I first thought that it must have been an infected download so I tried to delete it, but every time I clicked on the folder explorer quit. So I took all other files and folders and deleted the folder one level up.
I've done that twice now because other folders are starting to give the same problem.
I read that someone has linked his problem to .mkv files, but I'm not sure about that. I also read that it might be linked to context menu items especialy DivX-stuff, but I dont have those, or disabled them without result.
Untill now I've tried whole system security scan with MS Essentials, several file and folder scans and never found a wrong file. I've tried the sfc /scannow as was suggested somewere but nothing cam out of that.
I also downloaded ShellExView and disabled all non MS things there. But nothing helped.
So when I was posting that all this didn't solve my problem I was suggested that both my problems are connected and that I start here.
I downloaded the SF Diagnostic tool and hope my logs will give someone all info to help me
I will be really greatful if this is solved
