    BSOD playing Civ V

    Hello all!

Apologies I've had to register a new account because I no longer have access to my email account to recover the old a/c.

This is a fairly new system build I did 2 months ago and it threw a BSOD whilst playing Civ V. I've recently updated Catalyst driver so at the minute I'm pointing my finger at that!

I've ran verifier and there should be a dump of that also in the zip as the system would not boot

Your help would be very much appreciated.

    Hello Pazz,

What was the user name of your other account here at Seven Forums so that I can merge it with this one?

Thanks Arc. I suspect it's probably the i5 needing a bit more Vcore. It confused me as stress testing hadnt thrown up any BSOD but when playing this game for some reason it does.

The BSOD has been solved by increasing the Vcore but now I get an application error which is reported by event viewer. The problem goes away if I reduce the CPU ratio/speed by 0.2Ghz.

    Error 07/11/2012 22:06:01 Application Error 1000 (100)

Faulting application name: CivilizationV_DX11.exe, version: 1.0.2.13, time stamp: 0x508a311c
Faulting module name: CvGameCoreDLLFinal Release.dll, version: 3.0.3.0, time stamp: 0x508a38b4
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x000ed766
    Faulting process id: 0x1bb4
    Faulting application start time: 0x01cdbd3117434775
    Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\CivilizationV_DX11.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\CvGameCoreDLLFinal Release.dll
    Report Id: 504e034f-2927-11e2-a4de-10bf487e9536

Could any give any advice on this? Or should I perhaps head to a overclock forum? Or just be boring and return CPU to stock?
