    BSOD and random reboots

    Hi guys,

This is in reference to a friend's desktop running on 1GB RAM, a 3GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 160GB HDD and no video card. Tha's all I know about the specs as of now.

    Issue:
This desktop was running on Windows XP earlier. Whenever I started this PC, I would see the desktop and then it will restart by itself. Ran some virus scans and it all came up clean. So I formatted C drive and installed Windows 7 32-bit. Same issue. The PC just randomly reboots and throws a BSOD as soon as it reaches the desktop wallpaper screen.
Strangely, it doesnt happen while in Safe mode.

I have no idea what's causing this reboot and BSOD.
I have attached the dump files. Please help.

    Thanks,
    Dinesh

Maybe disk check and installation of the latest version of avast! antivirus may help.

    Hi Yussi,

Thanks for the information. I will uninstall Avast and also run a disk check and see if that helps.

    Thanks,
    Dinesh
