Prior to running Memtest: yes
Currently, I'm in Memtest mode! So don't know:
  • Before I go to work: Write down the latest Memtest results, switch RAM around, kick off Memtest again, go to work
  • Come home from work: Write down the latest Memtest results, switch RAM around, kick off Memtest again

I tried the 3rd memory stick on Memtest yesterday morning. When I came back to the PC in the evening, I could see that Memtest had frozen after 45mins.
Rebooting my PC, the PC didn't make it to the POST screen.
Removed 3rd memory stick, tried 1st memory stick in the same slot. PC powered on, Memtest ran, with a good 10 or 11 passes overnight.
Removed 1st memory stick, and put 3rd memory stick in a different slot. PC would not POST.
I've contacted amazon and they will replace the 3rd memory stick.

Hopefully that's the end of my BSODs! Sticks 1 and 2 have had Memtests on slots 1, 2, 3 all ith 9 or more passes and 0 errors.

If that was the issue (and if it was the only issue) then hopefully I won't have anything to add to this thread! I'll have to wait and see.

But either way, many thanks for your help,

Kind regards,
D

Hopefully you found the issue. If the RAM came as a kit, I would ask for the kit to be replaced.

Repeated BSODs from ntfs.sys, ntoskrnl.exe, and fltmgr.sys
I've had repeated BSODs for about a month. It stopped for about 3 days, but then started up again last night. They happen seemingly at random. It will crash when I'm not there, when I'm playing games (like League of Legends and DOSBox), or when I'm watching YouTube videos. It also has crashed when...
