Grr, both gmail and hotmail have a 25mb limit on attachments. Is it normal for the dump to be this big? (fnar fnar) like i said 447mb (although 130mb when zipped.

What is in the file? if it is just lots and lots of text could I not just copy and paste the content?

I am uploading it to Microsoft Skydrive, which you can access using your hotmail account I believe. I will post a link as soon as it is done

Code:
DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (9f)

Probably caused by : HDAudBus.sys

 Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\HDAudBus.sys
    Image name: HDAudBus.sys
    Timestamp: Sat Nov 20 10:43:42 2010 (4CE7A65E)
Same driver as the last BSOD, have you tried creating a image of your drive and then disabling the driver?

Try this way. http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tml#post836073
And configure Window to create a mini dump instead of a full memory dump.
option 1, Step 6. Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD

Your PSU on the effected machine may be going bad.

I have used SF diagnostic tool to grab a minidump file after changing the recovery setting to create a small dump file, but the file it grabbed was from the 6th November, the machine hasn't been BSODing just shutting off so I don't think any new dump files are being created.

I swtiched driver verifier on but still no BSOD just the same switching off after 40 mins or so of normal use.

I can't make a disk image of the system as it invariably shuts off while it is writing to my external HDD.

I have also uninstalled the HdAudBus.sys driver and let it automatically reinstall but that has made no difference.

I only have access to this machine (as i said it is my friend's work PC) during office hours, so I think my next step must be to leave the system running all night with the problem driver "HdAudBus.sys" switched off. If that stops the system from powering off does that mean that it is the driver or could it still be the PSU?

I did look elsewhere for related forum posts and it was suggested that it might be to do with the jumpers on the motherboard not being in the right places. I took a look and as far as I am aware they are correct but after posting this I will open the case up again, take a photo and post back just to make sure.

As req I have uploaded the minidump file, but like I said it is from 6th November so I think it will only contain info already posted

After disabling HdAudBus.sys and leaving the system it still switched itself off

I can only fathom then that it is a hardware issue. I have uploaded photos of the jumpers from my case and a link to the motherboard manual http://download.gigabyte.ru/manual/m...s2_v.3.1_c.pdf . As far as I can tell all the front side bus connectors are in correctly, but there are two leads (pic 3) with connectors +VCC +D -D and GND that I have no idea about.

The PSU is 500W and new and there is only one HDD connected, no CD drives, nothing in the pci slots and a built in nvidia chip. The motherboard, RAM and processor are all new also. I am not with the machine until later today (UK here) but my next idea was to try replacing the PSU with my own personal one.

Thanks again
