If I copy the text into the notepad then copy the text from there into the browser, it works.
I'm sorry about all the trouble and thanks for the kind help.

Alf, where did you get Win7? Is it possible you have somehow obtained a non-genuine copy?

Do you have a COA sticker as shown below with a Product Key? What all does it say on it without divulging the Product Key?

If not where exactly did you get Win7 and how it is activated? If retail, which version did you buy?

Hi Gregrocker,
My laptop is an old laptop that came with Windows Vista Home Edition as it says in the back label. And, I had a friend that was kind enough to update the os to Windows 7 64bit claiming it will make the computer more efficient. I don't have the disk for Windows 7 and it perhaps be a non-original version. I'm sorry again if making all of you troubleshoot a problem that might be all caused by the counterfeit copy of the OS.
Thanks,
Alf

In that case your options are to buy an Upgrade copy of Win7 to follow these same best practices for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Otherwise you own the version of Vista which came on your laptop for it's life, so you can reinstall it by downloading Vista ISO download to burn to DVD with ImgBurn at 4x speed, or write to flash stick using
UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive.

Hi Alf,

I would like you to run one more tool, just for diagnostic purposes:

CKScanner

Download CKScanner from here

Important : Save it to your desktop.
  • Doubleclick CKScanner.exe and click Search For Files.
  • After a very short time, when the cursor hourglass disappears, click Save List To File.
  • A message box will verify that the file is saved.
  • Double-click the CKFiles.txt icon on your desktop and copy/paste the contents in your next reply.

Hi Alf,

As Greg suggested, I think your best bet is to do a clean install:

http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...ml#post2200756

It will remove the counterfeit Windows installation, as well as the cracked software on your computer Win win!

Quote:

No need to apologise It sounds as if you were unaware of the counterfeit installation, so I can hardly blame you for that!
