Windows 7: On and off BSODs that are now frequent, Error: 0x00000124

I used to have BSODs that occurred when I left my computer running while I went to class. Sometimes it happened, other times it didn't. I didn't think anything of it because these BSODs never happened during normal use.

I frequently play a lot of games through the Steam platform and I've yet to experience a BSOD during gameplay, or any sort of regular use.

Recently though these crashes are becoming obnoxiously frequent. I usually average about 2 minutes before I get a crash. Sometimes its almost the instant I log on. I've been browsing the sevenforums for solutions and here's some of the things I've tried.

-System File Checker
-Registry Error Checks
-Scan with avast! Anti-Virus
-Scan with Malwarebytes
-Popped open the case to clean it
-Examined the connections between the cables of almost everything
-Driver Verifier

Of all the solutions, the only definite results I've gotten were from the Driver Verifier which gave me a BSOD immediately, telling me it was due to a faulty driver.

From what I've gathered from the biggest thread on the sevenforums about this particular error (Which is nearly a year and a half old) some people were saying this could be due to overheating, which I somewhat doubt as the issue as I keep the area around the tower chill. (Or at least, colder than most of my room)

It is stop 0x124, a hardware related crash.

Thanks for the response. I found that thread about an hour after creating this one and read through it.

1) I don't have anything overclocked on this system currently
2) I brought up cooling and temperature before, so I think it's safe to rule this out.
3) I think this might be it. In particular, I think it might be one of my drivers being faulty or conflicting with something since I've been careful to check that most of my drivers that interact with hardware are up to date. Like I said, I've gotten immediate results with the Driver Verifier.
4) I haven't looked too much into it but I did do a cursory glance and I couldn't really find much information about the BIOS of my motherboard.
5) I hope this might not be a false positive from Windows but I have been having a lot of issues with the OS itself...
6) I ran a check disk and a sfc scan earlier and nothing came up from it.
7) This is something I hope I won't have to resort to but something I've considered if I don't get anywhere.

Still no luck. It seems to be easing up a small bit, but it's still giving me a BSOD far too often to use normally outside of safe mode.
