Constant BSOD - Please help!

HI:

I've been having BSOD for a few months now... I can't take it anymore. I took to computer repair shop but all they did was scan my harddrives and then charge me $60 for really doing nothing.

I've attached the Zip file as instructed:

https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resi...D989AC5D3E!127

thanks

AJ

Welcome to SevenForums.

What version of the NVIDIA drivers are you currently using? All the BSOD-s seem to be related to the NVIDIA drivers.

If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

The latest drivers for NVIDIA are a little problematic as I've heard. Click on the Start ► Control Panel ► Programs ► Uninstall a program ► Uninstall everything related to; NVIDIA Reboot the system. Now delete remnants of its drivers using Driver Fusion/Sweeper. Reboot if required

Download and install the drivers from the link of Filehippo bellow:Then take Furmark Test:
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

For monitoring the heat/celsius of the system, use Speccy or HWinfo:
Code:

Start Menu\Programs\Auslogics\Disk Defrag	Public:Start Menu\Programs\Auslogics\Disk Defrag	Public

The antivirus you are currently using is known cause BSOD-s, consider uninstalling it with the Norton Removal Tool and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials at least to test. You may install it back if we know it wasn't contributing in the crashes.Recommended antivirus program for Windows 7 based on stability compared to others:-
Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:Free up the start-up, nothing except the antivirus is usually needed.Run Disk Check on your hard disk for file system errors and bad sectors on it:System Optimisers

These programs can often be a cause of BSOD's. The windows 7 operating system does not require these registry cleaning software. They often tune-down rather than tune-up and can wreck the OS beyond repair. Microsoft have improved Windows 7 significantly and it is much better at organising and optimising itself than its predecessors. Check this, this and this thread for evidence.

If you feel the need to use a registry cleaning or optimisation software, most of us recommend the use of CCleaner but make sure you back up the registry before making letting ccleaner delete anything. You may make use of the great in-built Disk Cleanup and Extended Disk Cleanup if required to do so, regarding de-frag utilities, I recommend yet again the in-built Disk Defragmenter - Open and Use & Puran Defrag which is much reliable compared to others.

Please uninstall the system optimization tools using the free version of Revo Uninstaller in Advanced Mode.

Check for driver updates on Synaptic Touch Pad Driver. If you don't use it, keep it disabled.

Update any drivers required from Intel® Driver Update Utility (needs Java to run).

Let us know the results.

NVIDIA driver

OK, I uninstalled the NVIDIA drivers and used the sweeper and I've downloaded the driver link you gave me. When I try installing it says "NVIDIA installer cannot continue: This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware

Updates:

-I've installed the 306.97 NVIDIA drivers.
-I've removed Norton Security Suite and will install your recommended antivirus programs
-I've run the Windows System File Checker and "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."
-I've run FurMark although each time I tried to check the Log GPU Temperature box the program would shut down. So I just watched the temps the entire test and basically it ran fine. Max temp would climb to 65 and then the fans would start blasting and would cool down to around 62 and just move between 63 and 62 for the most part.
-I ran the intel driver update tool and I updated drivers for my RAID configuration, Intel HD graphics and I think a processor-related driver
-I've uninstalled the System Optimisers using Revo

Now, I'm running scans with MSE and Malawarebyte

Will keep posted
