BSOD After Reinstall of Win7 64Bit

Sir or Ma'am,

I am seeking your assistance with repeated BSOD after a reinstall of Windows 7 64 Bit

My Toshiba Satellite A505-S69803 ran well for years. Two weeks ago I got the not so bright idea to upgrade to Win8. It ran well for about 7-10 days and then crashed and burned. I could not get it to come back to life, it would never get past the part where it was unable to repair itself.

I was able to get a cmd prompt and used XCOPY to copy the drive and save years of files.

I used a Windows 7 64Bit Update CD to try and bring my laptop back to life. It worked like a charm. The laptop ran perfect for a few days and now will BSOD about every 30 minutes or when you least want it to.

Thank you all for your effort to help me get some stability back on my laptop.

You should update its driver if you use it but I'd suggest to completely uninstall/delete it and see if the problem reoccurs.

See the threads below which are similar to your case:Hope that helps for now,

Thank you much KOOLKAT77 - wouldn't have thought of this one being the culprit as it ran fine for months before I upgraded to Win8. Removed it, rebooted and it has run just fine all morning.

Thanks again,
