random BSODs error 0x000000b8/490@01010004

Hello,

I am experiencing some BSODs on my ASUS G75VW. It's not happening at specific times, but every now and then, within 1-2 days, and that is completely random. I thought it was initially from some Adobe applications because it happened mostly when I was linking projects between the apps, but I found it also happened idly. I don't think it's hardware specific but rather a wrong setting or application problem. I have attached the history log below.

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000b8 (0xfffff80002407cc0, 0xfffffa800c759660, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000).

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000f7 (0xfffff80002c0dc60, 0x0000f88003f6a02d, 0xffff077ffc095fd2, 0x0000000000000000).

Hello, and thanks for the reply.

I've done all the steps , with the exception of the System File Checker and Disk Check, as I will set them in queue when I won't use the PC. The startup was already optimized, and I've also replaced Avast with Microsoft Security Essentials. Does Anti-Malware works well in conjunction with MSE? Can I use them both? I used to have it a while ago, but on a different system.

I will keep up any upcoming updates!

Thanks, again

After a short while something really odd happened. The PC froze and red flickering and slight distortion appeared on the screen, it's the first time it ever happened. I had to turn off the system completely and when I tried to boot up, It couldn't boot, nor repair files, not even in safe mode. I eventually managed to access the "repair computer" menu from the boot options, and I was able to boot only through an earlier system restore. After that I ran Sys File Checker, and Disk Check and I haven't got any errors or corrupt segments, and looked allright. After the freeze I went to Event Log and It came up with ID 11 multiple times which is quite odd.

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\DR2.

If you have a SSD, update to the latest firmware for it.

I've attached all the drives that are currently in use by the system, including an external drive. The OS is installed on the LITEON SDD, and I tried to look for an updated firmware but I can't seem to find anything. The laptop was achieved this September so it shouldn't have critically outdated hardware, I am thinking, but again I can't find any firmware for this my particular model.

Please unplug the external drive from your computer while troubleshooting.

I've requested for more help for your SSD. I'm not very familiar with those.

In the meantime, you may test the HDD - hard drives that you have.

Good luck.

I've never heard of Lite On SSDs, but this is their website page for your model. It has no downloads and I could not find any firmware for it. I may suggest you email them or call. All SSds that I am familiar with have firmware to tell the controller how to operate.

Did your computer come with the SSD already installed? If so, Asus may provide the firmware for it.

I have tried their website in the first place and, same here, I found nothing listed on the download section, so I sent them an email. I've contacted Asus, since the laptop came with the SSD already installed. I'll be waiting for the replies. Meanwhile, where else could the problem lie? Are there any other suggestions/troubleshoots, given the behaviour of the problem?
