Random crashes during normal 2D operation, dumps included, help please

    Hi All,

Basically I am getting this super annoying problem that only started to occur recently , possibly related to updates but I'm not sure.

What happens is that say I'm playing music or watching a video (not necessary , just example) the PC will sort of stutter / freeze and loop the sound into a glitch kind of noise for a few seconds, this might happen a couple times over a 5 second period , and then stop, It might happen again 20 minutes later or whatever. There's loads on the net about it from other people but no definitive answer. I have re-installed graphics drivers and tried a few different versions etc. The other day the PC actually crashed, no BSOD just rebooted with no warning at all and I think I got some crash dumps if anyone can analyse them.

    Any help majorly appreciated .

    Thanks

    Welcome aboard.

We need something more than dump files only. Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Upload it here: Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Seven Forums

    It never bsod's though

Just this intermittent freezing and a reboot . I've run prime 95 for a good few hours with no problems indicating its not processor / ram problem.

    Thanks again

Then what about the .dmp files you uploaded in dropbox? Those are showing 404 for me

Oh maybe I missed the blue screen bit ! Will the files you need still be on the system or I need to wait for the next one ?

    Thanks

The dump files will be found within these directories:

    Mini-Dump - %SystemRoot%\Minidump

    Kernel Dump - %SystemRoot%\MEMORY.DMP

You need to substitute the %SystemRoot% for the partition in which Windows is installed upon; for example, usually the file location is C:\Windows\Minidump or C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP

If you use the SF Diagnostic Tool in the link provided by Arc then it should automatically get all the needed files, if you use the "Grab All" button.

    Upload your .NFO file:

    Start > Type: msinfo32 > File, Save

Then attach the file in your next post, using this tutorial to help you:

    Code:

    Uninstall DAEMON Tools Lite:

    Code:
    Start Menu\Programs\DAEMON Tools Lite
This program is well-known to cause BSODs in Windows 7, and therefore should be removed.

Having many programs at startup can cause conflicts between drivers, and will also give you a slower boot time, usually only your real-time protection anti-virus program is needed to be enabled at startup:

    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 480:

    Code:
    c:\windows\system32\drivers\nvlddmkm.sys (9.18.13.1033, 8.92 MB (9,356,136 bytes), 31/10/2012 22:59)
Install the latest Beta Nvidia drivers and post back your results of the driver update.

Change the parameters which match your graphics card and operating system :)
