Thanks Wolfgang it did and hopefully it was the problem. I think it must have been because it fired up in a flash and (quickly I meant LOL!!) and whether it is my imagination or not the machine seems to be running a tad faster.

Oh it is a used Coolermaster 550W PSU from a recycled gamer I picked up for $5!

I am really glad that you are at the end of this crusade. For $5 it was even a cheap fix. Take care and stay out of trouble.
