Hope the annoying BSODs will not return
Just discovered an added bonus:
I can now run Windows Backup!
Previously I got some strange error which had something to do with shadow files and customised library content.

So I owe you guys double thanks.
That is why we recommend to not install bloatware and problematic software. They can not make a user happy in the long run.

And, you made my friend Britton30 happy

It's back!

Previous tests were done after a fairly short period of sleep.

Had a much longer sleep today and hit the BSOD on wake up.

Have attached as much info as I could gather.

It is a storage related bugcheck, and you need to check the HDDs.
  1. Update your SSD's Firmware (Skip, if it is not a SSD)
  2. Re-seat the sata and power.
  3. Run chkdsk /f/r, following the option two of the tutorial Disk Check
  4. Seatool for dos: SeaTools | Seagate download
Burn it in a blank cd. boot from the CD, click on "Accept", wait for it to finish detecting the drives, then in the upper left corner select "Basic Tests", then select "Long Test" and let it run.

Could you please expand "2. Re-seat the sata and power"?
Already tried Seatools for DOS "Long Test" which came up clean on both HDDs.
Perhaps best option would be to replace the HDD which holds the Windows system?

Remove these two, unplug, clean and plug them back.

Before abandoning the HDD, reformatting it may be a feasible solution. If it is a file system or disc data error, it will be solved by reformatting.

Remove and replace the SATA and power cables to all of your drives. Sometimes corrosion will form and make a poor connection. If the Sea Tools test was good I don't see a need to replace the drives.

D'oh! Arc beat me to it.

If I take a back-up, repartition and reformat, then restore would that do the trick?

It will do. I have done the same a couple of days ago.

Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup

Backup first. Then, Disk - Clean and Clean All with Diskpart Command. After done, make custom partitions, and then restore the backup.

I am now sure that the HDDs are AOK, even got the latest firmware.
Will give the box a long sleep when I have one tonight.
I'm beginning to think that it may be the MB that's the problem since everything else checks out.
The fact that the problem started after a clean install may just have been coincidence since the reason for the install was to try to rectify a couple of "funnies", so it is possible that the MB is on its way out.
It is quite old and there has not been a BIOS upgrade for some time.
I will probably give it a few more weeks then go for an Intel I3 or I5.

Once again, thanks for all your help, Arc and Britton30.

You may be on the right track with the board mate. I went from AMD Phenom x4 965 to Intel i5-2550K. I'd go with the 3rd generation i5 they seem to be good CPUs as is mine.
