    Apparently Random BSOD (BCCode:f4 BCP1: 0000000000000003)

Hi everybody... I'm new here, so I hope I’m posting this correctly. :)

We have a brand new Dell Vostro 3460 in our company that I set up with all the software required to run in our small consulting company a couple of weeks ago. I applied all the upgrades and installed all the updated drivers (I think they are up to date) from the Dell site. Some days after handing the laptop to the consultant, he reported to me that one day the computer just stopped working with a BSOD and it never got to booth again. After reviewing the case, I called Dell for support, and after a while they decided to replace the board and hdd. I had to reinstall everything again, and after doing that, the BSODs started again.

The problem is that it’s not clear to me what can be causing it. Right now the laptop is playing several videos, running iTunes with a radio station, running a WinXP virtual machine running on VMware also playing some videos on it, running several browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer), running Excel and syncing a huge amount of files on the Dropbox client. All this is being done at the same time, and the machine keeps working normally.

Attached are the files I got with the diagnostic tool.

    Please help!

    TrueCrypt

Hi koolkat77. Thanks for your reply. I just have a quick question: is the uninstallation of truecrypt something you suggest permanently or is it just to check things out? Because I can leave the laptop without the other tools you ask to uninstall, but I need to have truecrypt since all our laptops have to be encrypted.

    Thanks

I see. The dump showed an error with that program so suggested to uninstall.

    EDIT: (Temporarily)

Ok, I will then. I’ll get back to you as soon as I finish unistalling the software (decrypting the hdd) and running the suggested tests. It could take a while, because decrypting the disk will be a long process. Thanks.

Hi koolkat77. One more question: would it be ok to restore a disk image from before encrypting the hdd? At the momment the image was made, I think some (not all) of the BSODs had already happened. I ask because just decrypting the disk will take close to a full day.

You may give the images a go, but do perform disk checks and test the hard drive :)

Hi koolkat77. Attached you'll find the screenshots with the results of the suggested tests. Also, I'm attaching some additional dump files from a couple of BSODs I got today after restoring the disk image (but before uninstalling TrueCrypt and Paragon Backup and Recovery from it). I had finished updating iCloud Control Panel and Quicktime at the time. Thanks!

The 'System File Checker Results' shows texts in Spanish, but basically they state that there were no integrity violations found.

    Upload the current .nfo file.

Please upload your msinfo32.nfo file. To get this: Start Menu -> Type msinfo32 into the Search programs and files box -> When it opens, go to File, Save -> Save as msinfo32.nfo and save in a place you will remember -> Let it finish the process of gathering and saving the system info -> Right click the .nfo file, click send to compressed (zipped) folder -> Upload the .zip file here.

Did you check how the computer performs in Safe Mode?
