BSOD before and after reformat, possibly driver related

My computer has been suffering BSODs for the last couple of months. In an attempt to fix the issue, I reformatted my computer. This did not solve the situation. Right after reformatting (and before installing anything but Windows updates), explorer.exe (or some derivative process) would crash anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes repeatedly. I looked at many different posts on this forum, but nothing has helped so far.

Issues:
* BSOD. Typically this happens while playing games when Skype is running.
* No sound in a few games (Minecraft, Company of Heroes, Silent Storm)
* Cannot play songs on any media player (WMP, Winamp, Media Monkey) for more than 30 seconds. Song stops playing with an error message related to some disconnected hardware (Never had this before the reformat)
* Google Chrome crashes seemingly randomly

Fixes/Diagnostics run so far:
* Seatools (Diagnostic for Samsung HDD) all tests Passed
* Memtest86+ all tests Passed
* Prime95 all tests Passed
* HWMonitor all temps (CPU, GPU, HDD) are below 30°C
* Driver Verifier is running right now, it has produced three BSODs in about 2 hours

I appreciate any help you can give me. It looks like there are some very knowledge folks in this forum, and I am in desperate need of solutions.

Welcome aboard.

It is caused by Intel(R) 82579V Gigabit Network Connection driver.

Update it from Intel Download Center.

The version of your display driver sometimes a bit problematic.

Download and install Driver Fusion.
Reboot the computer in Advanced Boot Options, safe mode. Search Driver Fusion in your start menu, and remove all components of your nVidia display driver.
Boot normally now. Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, Drivers > Beta and Legacy; search there with your cards particulars for GeForce 306.23 Driver, dated 13.9.2012 and install it.

Perform some disc checks, as a few Ntfs and fltmgr errors are also there.

Update your SSD's Firmware (skip it, if it not a SSD)
Re-seat the sata and power.
Run chkdsk /f/r, following the option two of the tutorial Disk Check
Seatool for dos: SeaTools | Seagate download
Burn it in a blank cd. boot from the CD, click on "Accept", wait for it to finish detecting the drives, then in the upper left corner select "Basic Tests", then select "Long Test" and let it run.

As a precaution (it is needed here in your case), Scan the system for possible virus infection.

Let us know the results.

Thank you for your quick response! Below is the list of fixes I tried from your reply:

* I replaced the Intel network driver with the latest version from their website.
* I installed the NVIDIA 306.23 display driver, following the steps you laid out.
* I ran chkdsk as you specified.
* I ran TDSSKiller and Windows Defender Offline
* I tried to run Seatools DOS, but it was unable to find my hdd. I checked all wired connections and tried to use a different SATA connection on the motherboard, however it still could not find my hdd. Instead, I ran Seatools for Windows, and ran the Basic - Long test. The hdd passed the test.

Results:
* I was able to install IE9. Before these steps were taken, I was unable to install IE9 due to various errors. None of those errors occurred after the steps above were taken.
* I have only had one BSOD. I have attached the minidump. The system seems more stable in general, so something we tried worked!
* I still have sound issues. The audio in a few games either cuts out after a few minutes, or does not work at all. Other games remain unaffected. I also lose sound while watching Youtube videos in Chrome after about 30 seconds. I can watch those same exact videos in IE8/9 without any issue. Songs played on my computer still stop with a disconnect error after 30 seconds or so.

This is not the forum for sound issues, but would you be able to recommend a place I could go for help concerning my sound troubles? I really appreciate your help.

The dump you uploaded shows that you are still using the same version of the display driver. You may run the steps for uninstalling and reinstalling display drive r once again.

And, uninstall MSE, run virus scans again, reinstall it, and update it regularly.

If needed, you may start a thread in Sound & Audio - Windows 7 Forums, too, with a reference of this thread.

I reinstalled the driver you mentioned, this time it was the correct driver ;-) Thank you for the help, I have not had a crash in days! We can consider this case closed. I'll look for help in the sound forum, thanks again!
