Dell 435T BSOD-ish problem

Hey guys..

I am new here and I have been looking on this site for a little bit to hopefully find an answer to my prob i've been having.

I have a Dell XPS 435T
Windows 7 64bit
6gb ram
Intel I7 2.67ghz
Ati Radeon 5450

I am almost certain that my problem is due to either a faulty video card or some sort of driver conflict. I have not made any recent changes in my computer hardware nor have i installed any new programs. The problem i have is the computer will crash randomly but more often than not when i am watching video on the computer or streaming video to my PS3.
When it crashes i DON'T have a blue screen ALL the time. More often now I am getting a crash screen which is basically a screen of scrambled pixel colors.. Not sure if that makes sense or not. Its bizarre. I've downloaded the SF Diagnostic tool and i'll post what it says if anyone thinks it's gonna gimme some answers

My BSOD message gives me this :

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 50
BCP1: FFFFF89F982E1214
BCP2: 0000000000000001
BCP3: FFFFF880012E08C0
BCP4: 0000000000000005
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

if someone can gimme a pointer or an idea of where to go from with this information i'd greatly appreciate it!

Thanks
~mike

Welcome

Screen of scrambled, pixel colors could be a monitor or a video card going bad.. Can't be certain if updating/reinstalling drivers will help

Look forward for the files obtained from http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

OK. So I got information from some of the dumps.

Do you have AVG and McAfee both installed on your computer?

If yes, please uninstall them. They are both very often a cause of BSOD-s.

Make scans with the following:

-Kaspersky TDSSKiller-ESET online scannerMSE is recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other antiviruses/internet security software:-
1. Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows
2. Malwarebytes - Free
3. Good and Free system security combination.
Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.
*Update all network drivers.

Run the System File Checker. It allows the user to scan for and restore corruptions in Windows system files.
  • 1. Click on the
    2. Type CMD on Search
    3. Left click and Run as Administrator
    4. Type SFC /scannow
Full tutorial here:

Upload a screenshot of your hard disk using crystal disk info:Make a hard drive test from the hard drive manufacturers website.Run Disk Check on your hard disk for file system errors and bad sectors on it:

Update the video card drivers:

Click on the Start ► Control Panel ► Programs ► Uninstall a program ► Uninstall everything related to; ATI and restart the System. Delete remnants of its drivers/older drivers using Driver Fusion/Sweeper

So far the computer still glitches out on me. It has stopped the weird screen freezes i was having for now but it now seems to be running fine until it will randomly restart itself. Without any blue screen or warning or even a notification upon a reboot.
