bsod windows freezing crashing and not booting up sometimes

gday all
the last few weeks I have had some major issues with my computer windows 7 home premuim 32bit
I have used msconfig to only load essential drivers otherwise it takes 1-15 times to start up if at all.

info I have gathered so far:

driver_irql_not_not_less_or cant read the rest

possible hardware problems

windows failed to start because of hard disk problems
special pool memory corruption

also norton interenet security was updated and fine the next day the it wont upload definitions or starts back at the beginning again have let them know and im still waiting for a solution after maybe 3 weeks or more now even download the updated definitions and installed it and it's as if it didn't work because it wants to download all definitions again

I have run disk checks and memory checks and there could be problems there now?
I dont have any programs to read dump files but have being looking up event viewer and reliability viewer

thanks

Uninstall Norton, it contributes in blue screens.

Uninstall with the Norton Removal Tool and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials at least to test.

MSE is recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other antiviruses/internet security software:-
Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.
Run the System File Checker.
