    BSOD doing..nothing.

It started last night I was just listening to music via WMP and both monitors lost signal but the pc was still running. I was forced to reboot then it happened again this morning. About 20 minutes ago I got BSOD. Booted and started normally and nothing has happened yet. Refraining from running anything that might cause another.

The attached file is the SF diagnostic.

If I attached the right thing the second zip should be the dump file.. It was the only thing in the folder from that path

    Hello cedsays.

The zip you have uploaded does not contain any BSOD crash dump.

Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD

Follow it manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump.

Upload it at the next crash, following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

So.. I waited for the next BSOD and again both monitors along with the mouse and keyboard stopped working but the PC kept running. I rebooted and got BSOD. got the dump files (think its the right one) then my pc shut down and there was bo beep on startup. along with nothing else responding so I did some searching and stripped my mobo and installed everything 1 by1 til I found the problem. I seems to be this ram stick. Either the ram stick or the slot. I have to try that in a bit. Does a bad ram stick cause BSOD?

    ---

So much for my theory. I tried the stick that I thought was bad the slot the good stick was in and it worked. So i just tried the good stick in the 2nd slot to check if it was the slot and nope.. nothing has happened yet.

Well, it is caused by the antivirus program that you are using.
    Code:

Uninstall Avast using Avast Uninstall Utility.
Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.

Download and install those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

    Let us know the results.

I did so and ran both full scans. No threats or malicious items found.

Very good. Asked to do the scan, as Avast was failing there.

Let us know how the computer is performing now.

I've decided to wait a few days and so far everything is looking great. :) Nothing crashing and not a single blue screen. Thanks Arc
