Windows 7: BSOD Multiple After GPU/PSU upgrade, In Game at First, Now At Desktop

hey everyone, usually i can figure this stuff out on my own, im a technical computer science major, but right now im just stuck for once,

i have a hp p6520y quad core desktop which i purchased unmodified and working great, windows 7 home prem 64 bit

after 2 months of using the computer i upgraded to an xfx 7770 video card, and to a larger 550w logisys power supply.

after installing everything the computer crashes in games, deadspace 2 almost never crashes, max payne 3 crashes alot

sometimes it generates a bug error, and its always 0xa0000001 atikmdag.sys

i have removed and reinstalled many different drivers, and used driver scrubbers, with no change

but now my computer is crashing in games and i am getting 0x00000124 Hal.dll and
0x0000003b / 0x0000001e KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED ntoskrnl.exe

it just happened to me while installing a game, and it has happened to me in microsoft word.

i have all the bug files from the past month, and lot of reports, im just having a hard time sorting things out.

Seeing all your dumps, and adjusting them with your statement, I haven't got a stop 0x124 dump. But it is a hardware related issue.

As everything is started after you have changed two hardware elements, we can easily narrow it down to these two, and these two elements can cause crashes.

We can guide you through the process. But as those are new, the tests may make the warranty void. Better you consult with the vendor from whom you purchased the new parts, ask them to test those for you. And if those are faulty, claim for replacement.

i can not return the psu, and xfx technical support hasn't been any help, i am not worried about warrenty void, i have run Furmark with perfect readings and i have run a gpu memory tester for 6 hours today, came back error free!

it just crashed again on me, just browsing the internet

Usual causes: Appears to be a custom bugcheck coded into ATI drivers

Try to update it to the latest one, there is one more version available after that of 28th Sept.

I was just wondering if u ever got this fixed. I have a VERY similar story to u (bought new power supply and xfx graphics card a few months after getting a new quad core pc).

At the moment I am only experiencing problems in game like u were at first, with the stop error 0xa0000001.

Hope u did find a fix for this as it's very likely to be the same problem.
