Windows 7: explorer.exe broken/gone/messed up

i tried to install a theme with uxtheme and it went well when i was asked to put explorer.exe in c:\windows\ i made a backup and the current explorer.exe wont start cause of some stupid error. now i cant really use this and when i launch cmd from task manager i cd to c:\windows\ and when i try to rename explorerold.exe to explorer.exe i am access denied. i am admin and have tried various things but im stuck in this bad situation please help. how to perma bypass access is denied without explorer?
