Hello,

Since some months I have a BSOD on my computer: 0x00000124 WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. Firstly it used to appear when I was playing League of Legends during champ selection, but I realized that I also got BSOD when listening music on iTunes or on YouTube.

What I've already tried:

- I was on Windows 7 Pro x64, I formated the computer with a new Windows 7 Pro x64 but still have BSOD
- I installed Windows 8 Pro x64 after formatting, but still BSOD
- All my drivers are up to date
- I stressed memory with MemTest86+ without any error
- I stressed my graphic card with FurMark 1.10.3 without any error
- I stressed my CPU with OCCT 4.3.2 and I got the BSOD
- I clean up the computer to remove dust
- I changed the hermally conductive paste because my CPU temperature was high (70°C and over) but it's okay now (35°C, 50/60°C when playing games)

My hardware:
proc: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4Ghz
gc: nVidia GeForce 8800GTS
mb: MSI P35 NEO-COMBO

At the moment I'm wondering if the problem is coming for the processor or the motherboard. I doubt it happens because of corrupted drivers because I formatted the computer many times and unplugged all the externe devices during my tests.

I've attached all the debug info needed to this post, I hope it will help you.

Thank you in advance for your help :)

PS: my OS is in french I hope it won't be a problem for the debug info.

It seems to be a bad CPU, however, with Parameter 1 obtaining the value of 0, then this may be a generic error produced by the WHEA error reporting, as a result it is best to stress test the CPU for confirmation:
Enable "Round off checking" before the test (see first post below tutorial).

Hi and thanks for your answer.

I did two prime95 tests. The first one lasted 2 hours before I stopped it and during the second one, the PC crashed in less than 30 minutes.

I've attached the two reports (14.40 is the first one, 16.30 is the second)

Thank you!

Are you overclocking any hardware? If so, I suggest you revert the settings back to default through the BIOS.

Prime95 seem to give passes although your computer did crash upon the second testing; do you know what the temperature was?

I would run the CPU test with OCCT also, to see what the voltages are and if the same results occur, remember to enable Error Checking:

I don't have a single hardware overclocked, the BIOS settings are set by default.

I did another prime95 test to check the CPU temperature: it didn't go over 65°C.

I will do an OCCT CPU test and let you know :)

It seems you have a bad CPU, do have any other CPUs to swap with?

Can I swap it with an Intel Pentium 4, 3.4Ghz? I'm not sure about the socket.

If it fits into the socket without any problems then it will fine, have you searched your socket type and the CPUs compatible?

I know that the E6600 socket is LGA775 and the P4 is 775 (is LGA important or not?).

Well, I tried to swap the two CPU but the computer wasn't booting. When I swapped back to my E6600 it told me that the overcloack failed. I guess that's how to let me know that what I was doing was wrong. x)

Is there any other solution? Because I came back to my appartment and I don't have another CPU to test now.

You must have a LGA775 socket, which is a Land Grid Array type CPU socket, and have you stopped overclocking?

0x124 is a hardware-related error, and the hardware will need to be replaced.

So you advice me to replace my CPU? I didn't do any overcloacking.

Hi,

Well I've installed the new CPU. I have no more BSOD during the pick select (on League of Legends), but after 3/4 hours of activity, the PC crashes again saying the same error code (0x00000124 - WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR).

I did a short test with OCCT and the PC crashed when CPU reached 44°C (which is really low).

Do you have any idea?
