BSOD at random intervals "Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"

Hey everyone,

Got some trouble with random BSODs. I recently removed my SSD that was faulty and made a fresh Win7 install on my other hard drive (a regular one). My PC now has random BSODs and I'm at a loss at what could be causing it as I'm somewhat computer savvy but not nearly as savvy as you guys.

I uploaded the results of the diagnostic tool in attachment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you need more info let me know!

Thanks

Chupacabra

Hi there, Welcome to SevenForums.com.

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUALIs to do with ram.

Please try running memtest on your system Click the link for instructions: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Let us know how you get on,

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
I also pressed down on the sticks on my motherboard and it seemed that one wasn't entirely 'clicked in'.

I no longer have the BSOD, but it the PC freezes now sometimes.
Will let the mem test do it's thing and get back to you.

I let the memtest run for 11 passes but it found no errors.
Perhaps it's not the memory?

Can anyone find anything in the report I sent?

It looks like all the BSOD's are caused by athrx.sys (Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter) which is dated on 20/06/2009..

Are you using an external wireless adapter ??? If so go the manufacturers site and update it.... As far as i can see the only driver available at the Gigabyte site is LAN driver (Realtek) for the network interface.. There are updates for other drivers as well. update these as well.

And when you are at it... please also update your Windows 7 to SP1

Thanks Centaur, I'll update the drivers and I'll get back to you.

EDIT: Yeah I use a range extender for my modem since it needs to travel some distance and my PC kept getting disconnected.

Hey, ws out of town for a couple of days so didn't really had the time to test it.
Running now for a few hours without any BSODs, so I think it might have been solved.

I'll get back to you guys if it isn't resolved though.

Thanks for your help!
