BSOD, Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, and, Page Fault in Nonpaged Area

Hello, I hope I have everything that is required down, the dump folder is attached.

I have an ASUS K42Jc notebook which I got in 2010. Since the time I bought it it has not worked properly and has been freezing, and blue screening. I've sent it back to the shop 3 times and each time it has returned with the same problem. On the third time one of them suggested running memtest so I did and it didn't show any problems.

I've also sent it to ASUS but the first time I started it up it still had problems.

    My computer either:

    Freezes and requires manual restart
Instantly shuts down with a weird Zip sound
Blue Screens (with an occasional blue screen during the first blue screen dump - or a weird buzzing sound during the blue screen until it restarts computer)

I haven't paid attention to the earlier ones but the last two types were:

    Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Not sure if it helps but the code underneath was:

    *** Stop: 0x000000D1 (oxFFFFF880846C2F65, 0X0000000000000007, 0X0000000000000008, 0XFFFFF880846C2F65)

    And the second was:

Page Fault in Non Paged Area

Didn't catch the rest of it.

I've tried restoring my computer multiple times to original settings but the problem persists. (sometimes it would freeze or blue screen during the resetting stage)

I have had this problem for two years since I got the computer and would love to find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I'm also don't have a great knowledge of computers so hope what I included was enough, If I'm missing anything please let me know!

    Thanks in advance!

Which can often be caused by Security software like this:
    Code:
    1. Trend Micro Client Framework "c:\program files\trend micro\uniclient\uifrmwrk\uiwatchdog.exe" Public HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    2. Trend Micro Titanium "c:\program files\trend micro\titanium\uiframework\uiwinmgr.exe" -set silent "1" splashurl "" Public HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Please uninstall Trend Micro for troubleshooting purposes. Either with its removal tool or Revo uninstaller.
If you uninstall with Revo uninstaller, uninstall using Advanced Mode which allows clearing registry leftovers of the program.

Then update your Atheros Driver in the following manner:

Click on the Start ► Control Panel ► Programs ► Uninstall a program ► Uninstall everything related to; ATHEROS. Reboot the system. Delete remnants of its drivers/older drivers using Driver Sweeper.

Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

    Make scans with the following:

    -Kaspersky TDSSKiller
    -ESET online scanner
    Perform a System File Check:
    1. Click on the start
    2. Type CMD on Search
    3. Left click and Run as Administrator
    4. Type SFC /scannow
    Full tutorial here:
Disk Check on your hard drive for file system errors and bad sectors on it:

Reduce items at start-up. Nothing except anti-virus is required:
Install all updates including Service Pack 1:

Go to this link: Intel® Driver Update Utility. Check the system for latest updates. Download and install them one by one.

If this does not bring stability, test RAM.

Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.

The goal is to test all the RAM sticks and all the motherboard slots.

Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed.

If you get errors, stop the test and continue with the next step.

    1. Remove all but one stick of RAM from your computer (this will be RAM stick #1), and run Memtest86 again, for 7 passes.
*Be sure to note the RAM stick, use a piece of tape with a number, and note the motherboard slot.
If this stick passes the test then go to step #3.

    2. If RAM stick #1 has errors, repeat the test with RAM stick #2 in the same motherboard slot.
*If RAM stick #2 passes, this indicates that RAM stick #1 may be bad. If you want to be absolutely sure, re-test RAM stick #1 in another known good slot.
*If RAM stick #2 has errors, this indicates another possible bad RAM stick, a possible motherboard slot failure or inadequate settings.
    3. Test the next stick of RAM (stick #2) in the next motherboard slot.
*If this RAM stick has errors repeat step #2 using a known good stick if possible, or another stick.
*If this RAM stick has no errors and both sticks failed in slot#1, test RAM stick #1 in this slot.
    4. If you find a stick that passes the test, test it in all the other motherboard slots.

If Part 2 testing shows errors, and all tests in Part 3 show errors, you will need to test the RAM sticks in another computer and/or test other RAM in your computer to identify the problem.

In this way, you can identify whether it is a bad stick of RAM, a bad motherboard, or incompatibility between the sticks.
       Information
Errors are sometimes found after 8 passes.

       Tip
Do this test overnight, before going to bed.

Let us know the results. :)

Hey! Firstly want to say great thanks for the help! Didn't expect so much detail. Thanks for spending the time to help out!

I started down the list and came across a few small bumps so thought I'd ask to clear them up.

    1.

I started by removing Trend Micro however just as I was about to click scan (with advanced mode) and before I restarted to fully remove everything I blue screened hehe. I tried to search for files from trend micro from start menu and in Revo but couldn't find anything, part from an empty folder in program files. I hope that means its fully removed.

    2.

I looked up Atheros as you instructed and couldn't see any atheros programs to delete. The only place I can find that name is if I go to Device Manager and down to networks. I downloaded from your link the same name (version 10.0.0.75 for AR9285) written in device manager (which was an old 8. ... verison). If I uninstall atheros fully how do I install this new one, they are all in files I cna't run (Sorry, if there is a step I need to do I have no idea what it is)

For this step, would it be the same if I simply asked it to update from device manager?

Thanks again for the help. As you can see I am not too computer literate, but it is fun learning these things haha.
