    Occassional BSOD during Hibernation

    Hello,

First time poster so be gentle

My laptop was working fine until I replaced the 4GB with 2 x 4GB about 2 months ago. I also installed iCloud the following day.

I was getting numerous BSODs during the day and so uninstalled iCloud (using their uninstaller) but was still getting BSOD. I ran some memory tests and found one of the DIMMs to be faulty, got that replaced and now no more BSOD during the day.

I do however get the occasional BSOD when I try to Hibernate manually or the laptop Hibernates itself and I am struggling to troubleshoot the cause.

BlueScreenView is telling me that there is a "DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE" from ntoskrnl.exe with "ntoskrnl.exe+1040b" in the Address in Stack.

I've checked the event logs but maybe I'm not reading it properly but I really would like to know what the system is doing just before it tries to go into Hibernation.

Personally, I think it may have to do with iCloud or some form of network syncage but I could be completely wrong.

Please find attached the system and dump files and I'd appreciate anybody that can help.

I'd also appreciate if you told me where you found the issue or how you worked out the issue.

    Thanks,

    Erik

Seems like the BSODs was caused by your WLAN driver:

    Intel(R) WiFi Link 1000 BGN

I would also recommend that you uninstall Kaspersky and that you update the following drivers:

    Thanks.

I have tried updating the drivers but get ""Windows has determined that the driver for your software is up to date" for every driver except "Lenovo System Interface Driver" which doesn't have the option to update driver.

When I started having my BSOD back in November, I did go through Device Manager and try to update all drivers. Some needed an update, some did not.

Why do you recommend on uninstalling Kaspersky?

You need to check for new drivers at the hardware manufacturers homepages, here's the the wireless driver:
Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers for Windows 7

If you want a stable system I would recommend using the inbuilt firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials.

Thanks. I have updated the drivers. Not sure I like the settings the new Graphics Driver uses though. Everything seems "dull" or "matte" when it appeared more "glossy" previously, but I'm sure I will find a setting to change that soon.

I've left Kaspersky installed as I quite like its functionality.

I will post again with an update if I continue to have BSOD or if they have been resolved.

    Another BSOD today

    Had a BSOD during lunch.

    Latest dump files attached.

Sorry to be troublesome but any more ideas?

Edit -> I have noticed that after the restart, the Tapping is enabled on my Trackpad, which I do not like, so always disable it.
