Hi Diving Loon,Well, it hasn't crashed in the past 30 hours, that's a good sign. I think the SP1 really helped. If it doesn't crash by tomorrow evening, I will consider this problem fixed. And just to affirm, the first post had the current drive log. My previous post had the previous drive's issues.
I'm installing the Ricoh Drivers I found under the recommended updates in Windows Update. Thanks for pointing it out!Check the dell website under your model for driversOK, so to bring everyone up to speed...
Northernsoul55: Both the chkdsk and the sfc /scannow command passed with no problems (check Attachments) plus I successfully upgraded to Service Pack 1.
mgorman87: Both the Generic Short & Long tests passed in SeaTools with no problems. Any idea which Ricoh driver(s) I need? I personally don't own any Ricoh devices.
x BlueRobot: Thanks for the Anti-virus software suggestions!
For my part, I did take numerous precautions while installing the drive (dust-free environment + gloves). I/O error status may have been the problem with the previous drive. I have attached another .zip file with the last 9 BSOD reports from the old drive.
The good news is that I've already backed-up my files on two USB sticks and an 80GB iPod.
Thats very encouaging news,
hopefully its sorted for you
Enjoy your evening
Cheers
Dave
