I agree with Layback Bear completely .... but if the OP by any chance has a RAID setting, uninstalling marvell may hamper something ... so asked for updating it.
If there is no raid settings, better to not use the SATA\RAID controllers. Whereas Marvell is the worst.
Jeepmash, you may try deleting the PLTGC.sys file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers and\or C:\Windows\SysWoW64\drivers; if you are sure that you dont use CMedia. Also, uninstall Marvell from Control Panel> Programs and Features.
