BSOD playing EVE, error 0x01e

Could someone please help me figure out why my Alienware xM14 BSOD only while playing EVE . . . at work. Serves me right.

I have already replaced my RAM and run diagnostic test- through the alienware website and through boot menu. It seems that ntoskrnl.exe + 7ef90 is involved but I cannot google a simple fix that isn't a reinstall.

Attached is the zip file, as instructed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Sawrry Charlie.

Apply the latest version of nVidia display driver.
You may download it directly, from our forum link Latest NVIDIA ForceWare Video Drivers Windows 7; or you may opt for the Option 2 of Drivers- Download NVIDIA Drivers for “Automatically find drivers for my NVIDIA products” (it requires java installed).

Update Atheros NIC driver. it is old, of 2010. Get it from ATHEROS drivers for Microsoft Windows (Atheros?????).

Uninstall ZoneAlarm. Uninstall AVG, too. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Update Citrix Deterministic Network Enhancer Miniport or Cisco Systems VPN Client driver from Cisco Systems, Inc.

Free up the startup.
  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
  3. Select the “Startup” tab.
  4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
  5. Apply > OK
  6. Accept the restart.
Let us know the results.

Arc,

Thanks for the prompt reply. I have updated/changed my system per your instructions and will mark this problem as solved if I don't get a BSOD in the next couple of days.
