Bluescreens with games, youtube, winamp, web surfing

I've been having blue screens ever since the most recent windows updates. Didn't bother to rollback because I don't remember when I installed the updates; about a month ago maybe? Also, I experienced some freezing/locking up recently, which has rarely ever happened before.

I read someone else's thread and did the paces; manual startup with only microsoft services, still blue screened. Did full scan with MSE, clean. I don't have any other anti-virus/whatevers.

I've attached msinfo.txt, and the tool files.

Windows 7 home premium 64bit. Asus. Nvidia GTX460M, latest drivers.

I also have a hunch that it may be due to java. I play minecraft and it's been crashing very often since then. Youtube also uses java I assume? Anyway, I'm no expert, just blurting out guesses... Also, I have this THX application that makes the audio output sound awesome, but it crashes out once in a while too, but never blue screened. I can watch movies no problem off the HD, haven't tried from the disk drive.

    Many thanks.

    Hello thetalljs.

You need to roll back your display driver to a known stable one.

    Free up the startup.

    1. Click on the Start button
    2. Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
    3. Select the “Startup” tab.
    4. Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
    5. Apply > OK
    6. Accept the restart.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.

Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

Hi thanks for the help. During the uninstall of the drivers using Driver Fusion, it said that it didn't uninstall everything and that some would require a premium account. Also, do I uninstall the chipset too?

    Edit*
Oh ok I see... K installed new drivers, gonna test it out with a game session. Will report back.

OK back. Haven't blue screened yet, but the Nvidia driver still crashes and recovers. Better than blue screens I guess...

    Like this?
    Attachment 251122

It is in most of the cases a hardware (GPU) error. And that error is so random that a GPU stress test may or may not find it. I hope you are within warranty? If so, RMA the card.
